Schmehl’s artwork in the Military History genre continues to earn him a growing and enthusiastic following across the nation. His paintings and prints reside in numerous private, corporate and government collections such as: the U.S. Capitol; the Pentagon; the Rand Corporation; The U.S. Army War College; and the Delaware State Capitol. Individuals who are proud collectors of his work include General Henry Shelton of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and U.S. Congressman Ike Skelton of Missouri. In addition, his work has been reproduced in numerous books, magazines and videos dealing with military history.

Brad’s enthusiasm for American History translates into action as well. He and Becky support battlefield preservation by donating artwork and prints to worthy efforts. He is an honorary board member of the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association (GBPA) and has received several awards from GBPA in recognition of his efforts to support the restoration and maintenance of Pennsylvania’s monuments on the Gettysburg battlefield. In addition, the artist assisted the Highland Historical Society in raising much-needed funds for the purchase of the Bullpasture River Field at McDowell, Virginia, by donating prints of his painting, “Reconnaissance at McDowell”. He has also contributed generously to the Southern Soldiers Remembrance Fund, the Little Big Horn Association, the Irish Brigade Association of Virginia, and others as well.
